LAND TO LOAF
Wheat, bread and wine. Meet the farmer, the baker, the vigneron. Reflect upon the past while looking to the future of agriculture and food production.
Come along to Wild Crust Bakery to meet wheat farmer Ian Christoe and hear him talk about his farming methods, then watch his wheat being milled into flour. Meet sourdough baker Lyn Cunningham as she uses the freshly milled wheat to hand craft sourdough loaves to be baked in the wood-fired oven. Take a walk in the nearby vineyard with vigneron Philip Lobley and meet his friends, the beneficial insects, before tasting the wine they help us produce. Sustainability and the natural environment will be key topics. Includes lunch and a glass of wine. $65 per person, bookings (03) 5797 8433, Saturday 16th March, 10am-4pm, Wild Crust Bakery/Philip Lobley Wines, 1084 Kinglake/Glenburn Road, Glenburn 3717 and for more event details check out the MFWF link
